Exemption on the closing down of Class XII Machinery Spaces
Regulation 38 in the Merchant Shipping (Fire Protection: Small Craft) Regulations 1998 is applicable to every ship to which the Regulations apply. This regulation therefore applies to Class XII Vessels ( of 13.7 metres in length and over).
An ‘Exemption on the closing down of Class XII Machinery Spaces’ has been issued which exempts ships of Class XII with a length of less than 24 metres, that are constructed to the Recreational Craft Directive, from certain elements of Regulation 38.
