Key Dates for 2025

Whether you’re looking to participate, spectate, or simply follow some Scottish sailing action, there are lots of dates to get in the diary.

Read on for a selection of open Keelboat, Dinghy, and Windsurf events throughout the coming year.

Scottish Islands Peak Race

Starts 16 May

For those with a passion for hills as much as waves, this adventure combined fell running with sailing across several days.

Open to a range of sailing classes, this event can also be broken down into runners and sailors, as well as an all rounders class for those taking the challenge even further. Why not get a team together and if you are looking for some runners their are plenty wishing to get from island to island, 

Scottish Series

23 - 26 May

Four days of exhilarating racing great for sailors to come together across a diverse range of classes in a friendly environment. Find our more at the  for how to get involved. One of the most prestigious and long-standing regattas in the country, this event attracts sailors from Scotland, the UK, and further afield.

RS Feva UK Nationals

24 – 27 May

from across the country for the much anticipated class nationals. Marking the first of two Junior Pathway class nationals in Scotland 2025, excitement is certainly building amongst young Scottish sailors.

2025 Orkney Island Games

12-18 July

Taking place at Haston Slip Training Centre, racing will get underway in ILCA 6 and 7 classes, with up to two ILCA 7 Class competitors and up to two ILCA 6 class competitors per island will be permitted entry to the event. There’s also set to be a team event, which looks at the best three places in both classes for each race sailed. For more on sailing at the Orkney Games,

Aberdeen Tall Ships Race

19-22 July

Gearing up to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Aberdeen coast, the will see over 50 rather impressive boats stopover in the granite city for a few days of celebration and sharing of international culture. Organisers are urging everyone to “Get ready, get excited and get involved”

707 UK Nationals

31 July – 3 August

Port Edgar Yacht Club are hosting the 707 UK Nationals for the second year in a row. The 707 proves a favourite small keelboat on the Forth with five crew, and lots of fun. Close competition to be expected as well as a lively social scene.

West Highland Yachting Week

2 – 8 August

This travelling series gives yachters the option to complete the series, or enter individual races if they don’t want to take part in the entire week long regatta.

Suitable for a range of experience levels, ages, and competitive spirits, the race committee welcome and support first timers. Visit the 

UK Topper Nationals

3 - 8 August

This, year Nationals are coming to Largs Sailing Club – an exciting prospect for many on the 911制品Scotland Pathway programme. With a fleet of up to 200 racing for the 4.2, 5.3 & 6.4 rigs, the ITCA (GBR) Topper Nationals delivers some of the best single handed racing in the country.

Additionally, a Regatta Fleet will be running for younger or less experienced sailors who would like to get involved and experience the excitement of a National event, but aren’t yet ready to enter our main fleet racing. The week will be focused on fun & games and making friends, whilst spending plenty of time on the water.

Fin & Foil event with Windsurfers and Wingfoilers

Scottish Fin & Foil Championships

3- 10 August

Returning for it’s third year, the Scottish Fin & Foil Championships just keep on getting bigger…

Taking place on Loch Ryan in Stranraer on the South West coast, the windsurf and foiling event brings together participants of all ages across a range of classes in a truly fun and friendly environment.

Largs Regatta Festival

30 August - 7 September

 is open to keelboats and dinghies, and catamarans of all classes, racing is spread over two weekends with a range of racing on offer.

Want to protect the environment in which you boat?

If you are simply using your time to race to save the planet then why not use your boat differently in 2025 and plan a remote beach clean. Some great examples happening across Scotland already, why not join in!
