RYANI Annual Awards 2022

We are thrilled to announce that nominations for the RYANI Annual Awards are now open

Due to Covid we have not held an awards event since 2019. However, this year, we look forward to recognising and celebrating your club’s progress over the last 12 months.

Nominations open in January and close at midnight on the 17th February 2023.

This year, we have simplified the nomination process, to obtain photos and confirmation from clubs on receipt of nominations.

The aims of the RYANI Awards are

  • To promote the good work carried out by our clubs and individuals.
  • To reward the hard work carried out in our clubs or more generally in the development of our sport

Race Official of the year 

Award criteria

This award recognises the important work carried out by technical officials over the past 12 months. Nominations are invited for those technical officials who have made an important contribution to officiating, or in support of the officiating pathway.

Officials can be a Judge, Umpire, Race Officer, Mark Layer, Measurer as set out in the .

We would love to see nominations from non-qualified race assistants, timekeepers, event safety officers, beach masters etc, but these may be considered under the volunteer of the year, young volunteer of the year or the Chairs Award.

 

 

Club Race Coach of the year

Award criteria

In our Club Race Coach of the Year Award we are looking for demonstrable actions from 2022 including someone:

  • who has made a valuable contribution to club race training e.g. helped devise the race training programme, Is providing a great experience or level of support to club training participants.

and/or

  • has coached sailors to any special achievements.

The nominee must hold an 911制品Race Coach Level 2 certificate (or equivalent) and must hold current 911制品membership (we can check this)

How to nominate

Give details of how the coach has made a valuable contribution to club race training e.g. coaching skills and successfully trained young club sailors and/or helped devise the race training programme; and/or has coached sailors to any special achievements, in 2022? (250 Max word count)

Instructor of the year

Award criteria

In our Instructor of the Year Award we are looking for demonstrable actions from 2022 including someone:

  • who has received good feedback from their courses. 

and/or

  • who has made a valuable contribution to sailing and/or boating e.g. has undertaken an innovative project or otherwise achieved something significant for the benefit of the sport/their club.

The nominee must be an 911制品qualified instructor (or equivalent) and must be a current 911制品member (we will check this, the nominator does not have to)

How to nominate

Give details of feedback from courses; and/or how this individual has made a valuable contribution to sailing and/or boating e.g. has undertaken an innovative project or otherwise achieved something significant for the benefit of the sport/their club in 2022? (250 max word count)

 

 

Volunteer of the year

Award criteria

In our Volunteer of the Year Award we are looking for demonstrable actions from 2022 including someone :

  • who has made a valuable contribution to sailing and/or boating 

and/or

  • has undertaken an innovative project or otherwise achieved something significant for the benefit of the sport/their club;

Give details of how this individual has demonstrated led in club activities; undertaken an innovative project; or otherwise achieved something significant for the benefit of the sport/ their club in 2022? (Max word count 250)

Young Powerboater of the year

Award criteria

In our Young Powerboater of the Year Award we are looking for demonstrable actions from 2022 including someone:

  • Who has shown skill in powerboating, have made a contribution to powerboating;

and/or

  • Achieved something significant for the benefit of the sport/their club, through powerboating;

The nominee Must be under the age of 18 on the 31st December 2022.

How to nominate

Give details of how this person has shown skill in powerboating, made a contribution to powerboating, or achieved something significant for the benefit of the sport/their club, through powerboating, during 2022? (Max word count 250)

 

 

Young Volunteer of the year

Award criteria

In our Young Volunteer of the Year Award we are looking for demonstrable actions from 2022 including someone:

who has made a valuable contribution to sailing and/or boating

and/or

has undertaken an innovative project or otherwise achieved something significant for the benefit of the sport/their club;

The nominee must be under the age of 18 on the 31st December 2022.

RYANI Chairs Award Patton Cup

Award criteria

There are brilliant people and teams in clubs and centres that deserve the recognition that don’t fit within the main award criteria, please use this space to nominate and celebrate these people.

This award is decided upon by the Chair of 911制品NI to recognise someone, or a group of people, that have achieved something exceptional, or have gone above and beyond for a particular cause, but which doesn’t fall into one of our award categories.

If you know of a club, centre, person, or group of people that deserve recognition for their achievements/dedication, please nominate them for this award.
