Why choose 911ÖÆÆ·rules books?

911ÖÆÆ·rules books are the only publications available that contain the RYA's National Prescriptions, which are variations to certain areas of the rules and are essential for racing in UK waters.

What has changed for the 2025-2028 racing rules of sailing?

There have been many minor changes to the rules, but the key ones are:

  • Definitions – there have been changes to mark-room, obstruction, sail the course, and the addition of a new definition of continuing obstruction.
  • Large parts of Part 2, Section C – "At Mark and Obstructions" have changed – notably to rule 18 giving mark-room and tacking at the zone.
  • Part 5 Protests, Redress, Hearings and Appeals has been completely re-written.

World Sailing app update

Note: The World Sailing app was retired in September 2024. If you've already downloaded the app and purchased the Racing Rules 2021-2024 Integrated eBook, you'll retain access. However, no app updates will become available and you will not be able to make any purchases.

Instead, the Racing Rules 2025-2028 Integrated eBook (E-RRC25) (plus case books, call books and other associated documents) is now available within the new "Racing Rules of Sailing" category of the 911ÖÆÆ·Books app. You can purchase the new interactive Racing Rules 2025-2028 Integrated eBook from www.rya.org.uk or in-app.

Integrated eBook

The key difference to any other digital rules product is the Integrated eBook, which cleverly links all the documents together.

With the integrated eBook, you can very quickly identify any case relevant to a particular rule, search for specific cases, or even a case that may be associated to a text search.

A rules mode in the settings allows the integrated eBook to display windsurfing, team, match, radio, or kiteboard racing amendments for your convenience.

There are also useful features such as pop-ups for all definitions where they are referenced in the text; this helps refer back to the detail of the definition without navigating off the page.
