911ÖÆÆ·Midlands Region

The 911ÖÆÆ·Midlands region covers Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Birmingham, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire

Although this 911ÖÆÆ·region is mostly land-locked, it is one of the busiest for boating! Wherever you live in the Midlands, it’s likely that you will have a location to get afloat almost literally on your doorstep.

A rich diversity of clubs and centres spans high performance venues on the region’s largest reservoirs such as Rutland and Draycote to those at small picturesque lakes on former gravel pits that are havens for both wildlife and boating.

There is something for everyone in the region when it comes to watersports and boating - and for all budgets - whether paddleboarding or dinghy racing, cruising aboard keelboats, or mastering the fastest state-of-the-art foiling boats and boards.

It is also a renowned region for narrow boaters: Birmingham alone has more than 100 miles of canals, with Gas Street Basin at the centre of a web which reaches out across the industrial heartlands of the Midlands and beyond.

Half a dozen Midlands-based cruising and offshore clubs meanwhile providing exciting opportunities to sail on the sea, whether for a holiday, a yachtmaster qualification, or to compete in a world famous event like The Fastnet or Cowes Week.

Whatever your interest in getting on the water, the Midlands is more than a match for its coastal counterparts and there will be a club or an activity for you!
